Sammie donates money from art sales to , an organisation campaigning to educate and encourage individuals and businesses in ͯÑÕÊÓƵ & Hove to reduce, reuse, recycle or properly dispose of rubbish to keep the city's beaches and green spaces clean for all to enjoy. Her previous charitable endeavours also include doing a 176-mile hike from ͯÑÕÊÓƵ to Devon to raise money for The Sussex Beacon, which provides support to local people living with HIV.
Sammie says: “Between my Nursing studies at ͯÑÕÊÓƵ and working on the ward at the Royal Sussex, life can sometimes get quite intense. My daily beach cleaning walks have become a way to de-stress, and I quickly realised how beneficial they were for my mental health. I now beach clean every day. You'd be amazed to see what you can find at the beach when you start looking - but there's the other side of me that says 'why is this here in the first place?' I'm just one person – but the amount I've found is quite staggering.
