Springboard was developed in partnership with educational fundraising experts at Hubbub.net and will launch on 8 October, when the website will go live.
Students have the freedom to submit their own initiatives – whether it’s a creative project, equipment for a sports team or a research trip – as well as funding goals and timings.
For the first 50 successful projects, the university will match public donations up to £250.
Over the past five years, crowdfunding has helped more than 50 UK universities generate over £1.2 million in funding for student-focused projects.
Ruth Carpenter, Participation Giving Officer at the university, said: “We are extremely excited to be able to launch the digital fundraising platform Springboard.
