Proceeds from what was dubbed “Bright Friday” – one of city-wide weekend events – will go to the which helps the unemployed and people living in poverty to access furniture and household goods at prices that they could afford.
Lucy Kimberley, the university Environment Team’s Project Assistant: Sustainable Behaviour, said: “We are very proud of this event – it reduces the amount of reusable items being thrown away, reducing our disposal costs, and it goes towards helping local people in need.”
